Siemens Trans Pennine Express Train Maintenance Facility, Ardwick, Manchester
Contractor Project Manager responsible for tender preparation and subsequent delivery of £25m design and build project providing bespoke facilities for 50 new trains. The depot provides formula 1 type pit facilities including wheel lathes, engine/bogey drops, train washing, CET, cleaning, office and staff welfare facilities adjacent to the main line. Significant element was the closure of Manchester Piccadilly station for three weekends to effect major track and signalling works in 'the throat' to effect access to the new depot. Delivered under NEC.
Railtrack Ltd York
Construction Manager London NE Zone - Plain Line and S&C track renewals. Full management responsibility for possession planning and extensive track replacement and maintenance within fixed timescales in a live railway environment by framework contractors.
Docklands Light Railway, Beckton Extension
Contractor Section Engineer dleivery responsibility for heavy civils structures including, earthworks, piling, RC 130m span balanced cantilever bridge, 200m long PC concrete viaduct, structural steelwork and utility provision, part of project of £140m to construct 8km of elevated track and stations.
Hampton Water Treatment Works, Middlesex
Contractor Senior Engineer responsible for all aspects of engineering delivery of £22.5m scheme providing ozonation facility to live works. Heavy RC structures and pipelines including shafts and tunnels. Project included a series of successful 72 hour shutdowns of the works, and with it a third of London's water supply, to affect major connection works to the existing plant.
Education
Sheffield Hallam University, NEC4 Alliance
Initially coordinated WS1 design and cost plan for Phase 1 new builds of £80m whilst Alliance contract procured. Post award, led mobilisation phase, independently supporting all four alliance partners to collaboratively develop methods of working and interpretation of NEC4 Alliance contract. Drafted Alliance Protocol to capture this intent. Post mobilistion assumed role of Programme Alliance Manager, responsible to the Alliance Board acted as stratgeic lead for multiple schemes providing impartial direction and support to deliver Alliance intent.
University of Hull, Project Governance, Sponsorship and Delivery Protocols
Developed a series of delivery handbooks, protocols and template documents to establish a fully revised method of working for all UoH Estates Capital Delivery projects. Including, University project governance, business case planning, sposor/stakeholder enagagement and project managment delivery.
University of Hull, Academic Facilities Enhancement Programme
Client Programme Manager, supporting University Estates and Academics to deliver a 6 year programme of work to transform the academic facilities in line with academic aspirations and projected headcounts. Successfully developed overall delivery strategy for new build, refurbishment and demolition with third party consultant following extensive stakeholder enagement. Led briefing of University Leadership Team and gained approval for circa £100m programme of work. Initiated first phases of delivery.
University of York, Heslington East Campus
Client Project Director, responsible for leading all aspects of project delivery of the first phase of the £165m new campus through the entire project lifecycle. Included extensive stakeholder management, design briefing, consultant team management, design management, budget control, single and two stage contractor procurement, construction delivery and handover. This represented administration of approximately 20 different contracts including infrastructure, earthworks, in excess of 25,000m2 new build GIFA teaching/reserach space in five seprate buildings and extensive landscaping. Project used NEC extensively.
University of Manchester, Manchester Engineering Campus Development (MECD)
Client Project Director, responsible for leading the £350m new campus project through RIBA workstages 1 to 3. Included strategic project planning, extensive stakeholder management, design briefing, consultant team selection and management, cost management, determination of contractor procurement strategy and subsequent appointment of main contractor and key supply chain partners.
BSF Sheffield
Main contractor Project Director, leading second stage tender for Taylor Woodrow successfully negotiating financial close with the LA. Post award implemented the design and construction of the first three of twenty plus secondary schools. Developed with the LA the New Project Approval Process for the LEP which was ultimately widely used on other BSF schemes.

Portasilo Ltd. York
Set up and managaged a self contained business unit carrying out a range of site functions associated with the supply, installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance of equipment housings through a range of industries including telecoms, rail and power transmission. Role involved close liaison with factory, client, suppliers and operations staff to allow works to be completed whilst not compromising client operations.

SoYo, Leeds
Design and project management support to Moda and Caddick Developments. Developed a multi party site interface document to address practicalities of delivering five seprate schemes in parallel on a congested city centre site. This included significant negotiation with contractors, third parties and funders to allow inclusion in contract documentation.
Little Peter Street, Manchester
High Rise mixed use scheme. Design management of multi disciplinary team through WS2-3 for Buccleuch Property.
First Street North, Manchester
Client Strategic Project Manager coordinating a joint venture project between MCC and Ask Developments. Scheme includes new theatre and cultural centre, 4* hotel, multi sorey car-park and retail/food outlets.
Diamond Island, Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam
Client Strategic Project Manager trouble shooting of a £100m mixed use scheme that was in serious construction programme difficulty for a Vietnamese developer.
Chester Theatre
Client Project Manager assisting Cheshire West and Chester Council through RIBA stages A to D. Lead consultant ream selection, design development and contract procurement. Scheme includes a new build 800 seat theatre and refurbishment of existing 1932 Odeon cinema into a cultural centre with cinema, workshop space, library and restaurant facilities.
